Productivity Tools and Application

There are three productivity tools and applications that will help educators make work more proficient and productive. First is word processing software, the second is spreadsheet software, and the third is database software. All of these can help create a better learning atmosphere.
Word processing programs allow people to produce typed documents on a computer screen. Word processing is flexible and it also follows a "model-free" approach, meaning it doesn't follow one specific instructional approach. Word processing helps save time, enhaces document appearance, and it allows sharing of documents. This tool can help teachers create lessons and share with their students. Sharing documents back and forth over a computer is fast and simple. Students ca use this tool for every writing assignment given. Word processing is also good for creating dynamic group production. Everyone recieves part of the assignment and they work as a whole to complete it.
Spreadsheets are programs designed to organize and manipulate numerical data. This is similar to word processing except this organizes numbers instead of words. Once again this product saves time, organizes displays of information, and it helps support "what if" questions. Teachers can use spreadsheets to help them prepare classroom materials, and to complete calculations that they would have to do by hand. Students can use spreadsheets to create timelines, charts, and graphs, as well as products that require storing and calculating numbers.
Databases are computer programs that allow users to store, organize, and manipulate information. You can keep records and files using a database. Databases help reduce data redundancy, saves time locating and/or updating information. It also allows for comparisons of information through searches across files. Databases are mainly for teachers to use. they can use them to teach organization skills, teach research and study skills, and for use testing and posing hypotheses on different subject matter.
In conclusion all three of these software tools are very helpful in the classroom. They assist both teacher and student needs. They help save time and they also do a great deal to keep things organized.
